We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is literally a couple of mins walk into the middle of Ambleside where there is a great choice of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Room was exceptionally clean and well presented - we had the first floor room with the large bay window overlooking the front of the house. Breakfast ran like clockwork. Great meal and service. Our only shock of the stay was when the owner knocked on our bedroom door at 8 am to tell us that there had been sudden heavy snowfall and unless we moved our car to the front of the b & b we might get snowed-in ( the car park at the back is on a slope)! I dont think this normally happens. Great advice though! Ate at Matthews Bistro - great and drank at good real ale pubs.

Found this guest house whilst searching for late availability in the lakes. What impressed us most was the efficiency with which the breakfasts were served. The lighter option of poached eggs and mushrooms was delicious. There is also a car park which not all guest houses in Ambleside offer and as parking there is very expensive it is something worth considering before you book.
